  • A BRIEF INTRODUCTION ABOUT M D M DARUL ULOOM MOHAMMADIYA MADANI MASJID TRUST
In the hilly regions of India, disbelief and polytheism had deeply taken root. The majority of the population in these areas was far from Islamic teachings and was involved in practices that were contrary to the essence of Islam. The few Muslims residing in these regions were disconnected from religious institutions and lacked knowledge of the correct beliefs, Islamic laws, and social awareness. Their ignorance led them to openly engage in polytheistic practices. Basic religious knowledge was so scarce that even the Kalima was unfamiliar to many people. In some areas, there was no one available to lead the funeral prayer, highlighting the dire need for religious guidance.
In light of this concerning situation, a mosque was established in Gadarpur, a town located at the foothills near the Nepal, Tibet, and China borders. This initiative was taken by senior scholars and spiritual leaders in 1992 CE, starting with a small structure covered with a thatched roof. The mosque also served as a place of learning, where students not only studied but also resided. As the number of students increased, two additional rooms, a hall, and an office were constructed to accommodate the growing needs. For nine years, the madrasa operated in these modest facilities, focusing on imparting quality Islamic education.
The primary objective of the institution has always been to provide authentic Quranic education, promote correct beliefs, and eradicate innovations (Bid’ah). The madrasa aimed to revive the Sunnah and free the society from un-Islamic customs and traditions, instilling true love and obedience to Allah Almighty and His Messenger (peace be upon him). Despite limited resources, the teaching of Hifz, Nazirah, and basic Islamic studies continued in this small setup. Over time, the curriculum expanded to include the Dars-e-Nizami syllabus.
With the increasing number of students, a piece of land with built-up houses was purchased. The owners were provided alternative homes to facilitate the madrasa’s expansion. After much effort, the necessary space was secured, and in 2000 CE, the construction of a permanent mosque and three classrooms was completed. However, the institution faced a financial crisis due to the land purchase and construction costs, resulting in a significant debt. The management reached out to generous individuals to clear the debt.
In 2007, three more classrooms were added, and the Arabic curriculum was further expanded. By the grace of Allah, in 2014, the institution inaugurated the Mishkat Sharif course, with the initial lectures delivered by Sheikh-ul-Hadith Maulana Abdul Haq Sahib (RA) from Darul Uloom Deoband. For the completion ceremony, scholars from Darul Uloom Deoband and Madarsa Shahi Moradabad were invited. The madrasa continued to progress under the guidance of senior scholars and spiritual leaders.
In 2019, the Dawra-e-Hadith course, including Bukhari Sharif, was inaugurated under the supervision of prominent scholars and Muhaddithin.
The success and progress of this institution are undoubtedly the result of the sincere prayers and spiritual guidance of Hazrat Alhaj Shah Abdul Haq Sahib, Shah Fazle Haq Sahib, Abdur Rahman Sahib, Shah Mohammad Zubair Sahib (may Allah have mercy on them), and the great spiritual reformer, Hazrat Maulana Masihullah Khan Sahib (RA). Their efforts and prayers laid the foundation for the madrasa’s growth and success.
Alhamdulillah, within 28 years, the madrasa became a central religious institution in the region. As the madrasa continued to grow, the need for more space arose. Approximately 2.5 crore rupees were invested to purchase additional land to build a school and a student hostel. However, a portion of the debt is still pending.
By the grace of Allah, the institution has always received divine assistance, and it is hoped that Allah’s support will continue to help complete the remaining projects successfully.
